J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products started life as a pastime. Initially Fred Tibbetts started shooting bows 30 years ago, this was the beginning of his passion for all things archery. About 20 years ago Fred Tibbetts began making archery products as a hobby. Within the past 10 years Fred Tibbetts found a new fascination with an old product - medieval archery equipment. Over the last 10 years Fred has made medieval style arrows for friends, more recently Fred Tibbetts has realised that his experience could be put to use in a business. With this in mind Fred Tibbetts formed this company, J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products.

Today J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products supplies archery equipment at a number of the main medieval festivals and fayres. The main focus of J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products are the arrows Fred Tibbetts produces. Some of the more elaborate arrow piles are made and supplied by Hector Cole, a highly skilled and knowledgeable blacksmith specialising in medieval weaponry.

J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products also supplies KG Bows. KG Bows are suppliers of a full range of high quality bows. J F Tibbetts Traditional Archery Products now also supplies products from DIY Archery, a supplier of war bows and traditional re-enacting products.
 

Medieval Archery Equipment

Medieval archery saw the main focus of archery equipment development. A variety of arrow piles, or heads, were developed for a number of specific purposes. The wide variety of different piles added extra tactical value and significance to the archer.
